The Columbia 212483 Mens Ascender Soft Shell Jacket is an updated version of the iconic Ascender Soft Shell, now with an enhanced construction featuring a fleece bonded interior lining that adds meaningful warmth and a soft interior surface compared to the earlier 155653 Ascender which used a non-bonded soft shell. The 100% polyester contour soft shell provides wind- and water-resistance, Omni-Shield water and stain repellent treatment, and comfort stretch for flexibility during active movement.

The fleece bonded interior adds a layer of thermal insulation and comfort compared to a plain soft shell construction, making the 212483 Ascender more effective as a standalone cold-weather outer layer rather than just a wind layer. Comfort stretch allows the soft shell to flex with the body rather than resisting arm and shoulder movement.

An abrasion-resistant or padded chin guard prevents zipper contact at the chin. Zippered chest and hand pockets provide organized storage. Adjustable cuffs and drawcord hem allow fit customization. Embroidered Columbia branding on the upper left sleeve provides brand identity. Woven label inside. Available in sizes S through 4X.
