The vest format is particularly effective for high-output outdoor activities where arm freedom matters — hiking, climbing, and active outdoor work — and where the additional warmth of a full jacket sleeve is not needed.

Binding at the armholes provides a clean, finished edge at the sleeve opening appropriate for a vest construction, and a drawcord adjustable hem allows waist cinching.
