The Columbia 212477 Bora Bora Booney is a sun hat built from 100% textured nylon poplin on the top, sides, and brim, with Omni-Shade UPF 50 sun protection and an Omni-Wick moisture management sweatband. The textured nylon poplin construction provides a lightweight, durable hat body that holds its shape through regular use while being easy to pack flat when not worn. Omni-Shade UPF 50 — applied through the tight nylon weave and modified fibers — provides maximum-rated UV protection across the covered areas of the head, face, and neck shaded by the brim.

A 3-inch brim provides significantly more sun coverage than a standard ball cap or trucker cap, shading the face, ears, and back of the neck effectively for extended outdoor sun exposure during fishing, hiking, and water sports.
